I am a professional grant writer, specializing in the Canadian music industry. I have raised over $1.7 million in grant money for my clients since Spring 2021.

My journey began at TMU (formerly Ryerson University), studying Media Production with a double minor in English and Law. After graduating, I was hired as the day to day manager for The Glorious Sons, doing everything from designing merch and advancing tours to running and innovating content for socials. In 2021, I was hired as the funding coordinator at Valeo Arts Management, handling grants for clients including The Halluci Nation (formerly A Tribe Called Red), Haviah Mighty, Jean-Michel Blais, Jeremy Dutcher, Leif Vollebekk, and others.

In 2023, I launched my own grant writing business, Granted by Shay. I am currently living and working out of Toronto, Canada.
